THISTLE COTTAGE STUDIO: SPRING CREATIVITY BLOOM BOOM!!

THIS., def.=THANK GOD IT'S SPRING!
The trees may be making my allergies miserable, but my heart is joyful and my creativity all abuzz with more ideas than time!! I've just uploaded my new spring line of goodies and eye candy on my ETSY shop (www.orsinimedici1951.etsy.com).  The limited edition of Jane Austen inspired hats are getting a lot of attention according to my Google Analytics tracking system!!  I sold the embroidered linen Jane Austen Bonnet the second day after I uploaded it!!  This is an ongoing series of hats in romantic fabrics and antique lace from yesteryear, with trimmings and soon, flowers, that are inspired by one of my favorite eras and writers. I am determined to singlehandedly bring back the romance of the hat!!  You say you're not a "hat" person?
May I offer, then, that a hat frames the face like nothing else.  It's a matter of self-confidence, and the courage to be seen making a fashion/personality statement. It may also be a matter of finding a line of hats and hat shapes and styles that touches you.  The shape of ones face, haircut, and physical stature do have some bearing on what style hat you may gravitate towards.  In short, an oval face looks well in most any hat.  Try many types on with a trusted friend at your side for their opinion.  In the end, it's really about your self image, and how much you are willing to experiment.  Wear what you love! Period! What period is up to you.
Also, I wanted to mention to those of you who live in RI and surrounding areas, I will be offering a SUMMER SEWING AND CRAFT CAMP FOR KIDS at my studio.
PLEASE log on to iList.com, or turnto10.com for a full course menu, studio photo gallery, and a reference link to the Providence Performing Arts Center.  I am now the proud sponsor of one of my winning students, Rachel, who is just 11 years old!  Rachel applied for and won a $500.00 Summer Arts Scholarship to continue studying sewing with me.  It was made possible by the Providence Performing Arts Center (RI).  So, kudos to Rachel and PPAC!!
